Menopause is a natural phenomenon in every woman’s life, and marks the end of her ability to bear children. By definition, menopause is the absence of menstrual periods for 12 months. It can happen during your 40s and 50s.
The signs of menopause include irregular periods, hot flashes, night sweats, sleep difficulties, and irritability. This happens because women are born with finite number of ovarian follicles, which gradually get depleted, causing the natural ovulation cycle to cease. As a result, oestrogen and progesterone hormone levels fall, and luteinizing hormone (LH) and follicle stimulating hormone (FSH) increase in response, which cause what we refer to as ‘menopausal symptoms’.
At the Srushti Fertility Centre, our specialists can help you manage the secondary effects of menopause, as well as you diet, as your body makes the transition.
