Oocyte Freezing

We perform cryopreservation for you to preserve fertility, by freezing and storing embryos, eggs and sperm for use in the future. A vital component of any successful fertility programme,Srushti has had an excellent track record with Cryopreservation since 2000.

Cryopreservation can be a difficult decision to make for some couples. However, it truly is a viable means to preserve fertility and have a biological child. It can also help other couples experience the joy of parenthood, through the donation of embryos, eggs and sperms.

Oocyte Vitrification

Srushti Fertility Centre offers OocyteVitrification, a recent innovation, where your eggs may be frozen using an ultra-rapid freezing for later use. More than 85% of the eggs survive the process of freezing and defrosting at Srushti and in combination with ICSI, we achieve similar fertilization rates with fresh and frozen eggs.

Who should consider freezing their eggs?

  • If you are about to undergo treatment that could affect your fertility, such as cancer therapies
  • If you wish to delay pregnancy (social egg freezing).

  • For women with increased risk of premature ovarian failure and early menopause.

For how long can the frozen eggs be stored?

Eggs stored for medical reasons can be stored for up to 55 years, while those that are stored for social reasons are kept for up to 10 years.

What are your chances of having a baby using frozen eggs?

Pretty good! At Srushti, we’ve had equal measures of success with frozen eggs and fresh eggs in IVF.

The success rate of a live birth with egg freezing and IVF are estimated by age:

< 38 years old about 60% chance of a live birth per 20 eggs vitrified
38 – 40 years old about 50% chance of a live birth per 30 eggs vitrified

When should you freeze your eggs?

Ideally between the ages of 31 and 36. You’re too young to worry if you are under 30, and if you are over 36, the clock is ticking, so talk to our specialist and weigh your options.
